- •Provides excellent grip in humid and wet conditions, preventing club slippage even with sweaty hands.
- •Textured surface and strong grip texture offer a secure hold during swings, enhancing control and feel.
- •Larger, softer rubber lower hand section simulates 4 extra wraps of tape, encouraging lighter grip pressure and reduced tension.
- •Uniform diameter makes gripping easier, especially beneficial for older golfers or those transitioning from oversized grips.
- •Durable and weather-resistant, lasting well over two years with regular use.
- •Comfortable enough for use across multiple clubs, including irons and hybrids.
- •Includes a logo on the handle that serves as a useful reference point for consistent hand placement, aiding alignment and consistency.
- •Considered a performance upgrade over original grips by many users, with some switching their entire set to MCC Plus4.
- •Enhances overall game performance by improving grip security and power transfer.
Cons
- •The grip can feel thicker and a bit rough on the hands during extended use, potentially causing discomfort or blisters if hand positioning is inconsistent.
- •Slightly more challenging to install compared to standard grips, often requiring multiple layers of tape to customize feel and fit.
- •May be better suited for irons and wedges rather than drivers, as some users find comfort and performance vary by club type.
- •Hand positioning is crucial with this grip; improper placement can lead to tension or hand pain.
Bottom Line
The Golf Pride MCC Plus4 New Decade MultiCompound grip is a solid choice for golfers seeking superior grip security, comfort, and durability, especially in humid or wet conditions. Its unique design encourages a lighter grip pressure that can translate to better swing power and control. However, its thicker, textured feel and installation demands might require a bit of adjustment and care—particularly for players sensitive to hand comfort or new to hybrid grips. If you're looking for a grip that combines performance and longevity and don’t mind investing time in installation, this grip will serve you well. For those wanting something slightly softer or easier to install, exploring other premium grips might be beneficial.
