Pros
- •Easy to use with a smooth application process once the nozzle is in place
- •Effective at sealing leaks and preventing water damage in various scenarios, including RV roofs and pools
- •Clear finish blends seamlessly, avoiding unsightly patches on your surfaces
- •Can cover large areas with a single 14-oz can, especially useful for larger projects like camper roofs
- •Provides a durable, long-lasting seal that can hold up for weeks or even years in some cases
- •Adheres surprisingly well to wet surfaces and rubber, making it versatile for tricky areas
- •Simple instructions help maximize its efficiency and minimize waste
- •Works well for small holes, cracks, and creases, often sealing effectively after a few coats
- •Recommended by users for quick, temporary fixes in emergencies and for general waterproofing needs
- •The spray allows quick coverage, speeding up the application process
Cons
- •The product failed to stop leaks on an RV roof, with leaks returning during rain – not reliable for heavy-duty roofing repairs
- •Cracked and did not adhere properly to certain materials like metal, plastic, or chalk, requiring removal and reapplication
- •Often requires multiple coats (7-8 for large holes, more for bigger repairs), which can be time-consuming and wasteful
- •Long curing and drying times may extend project timelines, especially if multiple coats are needed
- •The can arrived damaged and missing the spray nozzle, indicating poor packaging and quality control (nozzle was missing upon first use)
- •Messy application with overspray and waste, especially without an adjustable nozzle
- •Some reports of the product cracking and peeling over time, reducing its long-term reliability
- •Recommended conditions for use are limited; not suitable for underwater or tiled surface applications
- •Customer service received negative feedback, especially regarding damaged products and defective shipments
- •The need for multiple coats and patience might make it less appealing for quick, on-the-spot repairs
Bottom Line
While Flex Seal Spray Rubber Sealant Coating is praised for its ease of application and versatility in sealing small leaks and cracks, it may fall short for larger, heavy-duty jobs like RV roof repairs. Its effectiveness hinges on proper application, multiple coats, and patience. We think that if you're looking for a reliable, long-term waterproof solution for extensive projects, you might want to explore sturdier options like liquid rubber coatings or specialized roof sealants. However, for quick fixes on small leaks or cracks, this product can still be a handy, messier, but generally effective choice.
