Cons
- •The desk mount arm is somewhat flimsy and prone to noise, which can be annoying during recordings or streams.
- •Touch-sensitive mute button can be accidentally activated; some prefer physical buttons.
- •RGB lighting does not support customization beyond basic effects, and may not be needed by all users.
- •The pop filter covers the microphone but may be less effective at reducing plosive sounds compared to dedicated pop filters.
- •Some users mention slight crackling with USB-C to USB-A cables; a USB-C to USB-C cable can improve audio quality.
- •XLR mode requires unplugging cables to switch, lacking a dedicated switch for easier toggling.
- •Built-in features like RGB and mute may not function when using XLR mode unless powered via USB-C.
- •The mic's plastic casing is durable but still plastic, which might feel less premium compared to metal-bodied mics.
- •The boom arm's stiffness might make positioning a bit tricky, especially if your setup has limited space.
Bottom Line
The FIFINE XLR/USB Gaming Microphone Set offers versatile, high-value audio with professional-grade features suitable for streamers, podcasters, and gamers. Its ease of setup, dual connectivity, and stylish design make it a great choice for those seeking quality without a high price tag. However, for users requiring a more robust boom arm, better noise isolation, or advanced RGB customization, exploring higher-end options like the AKG Pro Audio C414 might be worthwhile.
