Elmer’s Squishies Kids’ Activity Kit
Pros
- •Fun and engaging activity for kids, especially great for family bonding and school breaks
- •Easy to make with minimal mess, suitable for kids of all ages to follow the steps
- •Creates super cute, collectible squishy figurines that kids enjoy playing with
- •Molds can be saved and reused, and also double as dust-free storage for the toys
- •Less sticky compared to similar DIY squishy kits, making handling easier
- •Allows creativity through layering colors for multi-colored effects
- •Final squishies have a unique gelatinous, stress ball-like texture rather than a slimy feel
- •Random mold shapes add an element of surprise and excitement to each kit
- •Makes a nice gift option for birthdays or special occasions
- •Squishies remain soft and don’t dry out, maintaining their squishy nature over time
Cons
- •Takes significantly longer than 60 minutes to fully cure; best to leave squishies overnight to avoid stickiness
- •Removing the squishies from the molds can be tricky and requires extra care and patience
- •Final colors and glitter appear muted and less vibrant than expected based on the glue and glitter used
- •Squishies are relatively short-lived and may become unpleasant with regular use
- •Figures are firm but not as squishy or soft as some store-bought toys, which might be a downside for some
- •Not ideal for repeat purchase due to limited durability and slight messiness during the process
Bottom Line
Elmer’s Squishies Kids’ Activity Kit offers a creative, hands-on project that kids find entertaining and rewarding, especially if you’re looking for a fun crafting activity with collectible results. However, be prepared for a longer curing time and a less vibrant final look than you might expect. If you want a more durable or intensely squishy toy, this might not be the best fit for repeat craft sessions. For a similar creative DIY experience with strong entertainment value, this kit is still worth considering as a one-time gift or activity.
