- •Self-propelled EGO Touch Drive™ system makes mowing easier and less physically demanding, improving comfort for users of varying strength.
- •Quiet operation compared to traditional gas-powered mowers, making it more pleasant to use in residential areas.
- •Eco-friendly cordless design powered by 56V ARC Lithium™ batteries, eliminating gas fumes and reducing maintenance costs.
- •Runs up to 70 minutes per charge with the included 10.0Ah battery and charges quickly, enabling efficient lawn care.
- •Select Cut™ Multi-Blade system allows customization between mulching and bagging, enhancing cutting precision and bagging performance.
- •Lightweight and easy to maneuver relative to larger gas mowers, although some users found it on the heavier side.
- •Provides excellent value and is built to a high standard, inspiring confidence in its long-term usability.
- •LED headlights add convenience for mowing in low-light conditions like dawn or dusk.
Cons
- •No side discharge option available, limiting mowing style preferences for some users.
- •Struggles to cut very short grass cleanly and performs less efficiently on taller, thicker grass without starting on a higher cut setting.
- •Grass clippings can stick to the mower frame occasionally, causing it to choke and cut off unexpectedly.
- •Battery life reportedly diminishes over time for some users, reducing effective runtime as the mower ages.
- •Frequent battery swaps or recharges may be needed for larger lawns, which can slow down mowing sessions.
- •Some find the mower quite heavy, leading to fatigue and difficulty with maneuverability, especially during tight turns where wheels can stiffen.
- •Ergonomic design has room for improvement; palm-activated controls may lead to hand fatigue during extended use.
- •Overall performance can feel disappointing or inefficient for certain yard types, particularly those with thick or wet vegetation.
Bottom Line
The EGO LM2206SP 22-inch Aluminum Deck Select Cut™ Self-Propelled Lawn Mower offers powerful cutting performance, excellent build quality, and eco-friendly cordless operation that suits medium-sized lawns with varied terrain. Its aluminum deck and customizable blade system provide durability and cutting flexibility, while the self-propelled drive and quiet operation enhance user comfort. However, if you have a very large lawn, frequently need side discharge functionality, or prefer super lightweight maneuverability, you might want to consider other options. For those seeking advanced battery life and even lighter models, alternatives may fit better, but if power and durability top your list, this mower delivers impressively.
