Cons
- •Battery life is noticeably shorter than advertised, typically only lasting 9 to 11 minutes under normal conditions.
- •The included Goggles N3 model is considered inferior compared to the more advanced Goggle 3, leading to a less satisfying FPV experience.
- •Goggles do not fit standard carrying cases, which complicates transport and storage.
- •Marketing around the included goggles is somewhat misleading, overstating their capabilities.
- •Wind resistance is low, causing performance struggles in strong gusts, similar to the Neo 2 model.
- •Users often recommend buying goggles separately for a better FPV experience, which raises overall cost.
Bottom Line
The DJI Avata 2 Fly Smart Combo is a thrilling, beginner-friendly FPV drone that captures stunning 4K video and offers intuitive flying with safety-conscious design elements like built-in propeller guards. However, its battery life is fairly limited, and the included Goggles N3 may leave enthusiasts wanting more, as they fall short compared to higher-tier goggles sold separately. If immersive FPV is your priority, consider upgrading the goggles or budgeting for a standalone set. Overall, this drone is a solid choice for newcomers and those seeking a compact, reliable, and fun flying experience with room to grow in the FPV world.
