Pros
- •Runs very well on Nintendo Switch 2, delivering smooth gameplay with minimal performance issues.
- •Visually impressive graphics for the platform, even comparable to higher-end consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X.
- •Offers a steady 40 to 60 FPS frame rate with only minor drops, mostly during demanding areas or DLC content.
- •Performance mode enhances smoothness and is recommended especially with a 120 Hz TV for docked play.
- •Includes HDR 10 settings for an enhanced visual experience.
- •Controls are well adapted, with gyro aiming and motion controls providing fun and precise gameplay options.
- •Rich storyline and deep leveling system make for an immersive and engaging open-world experience.
- •Physical Japanese release includes all content uncensored, ideal for players wanting the full game.
- •Cross-progression allows seamless transition between desktop and portable versions, enhancing convenience.
- •The port is widely considered polished and highly recommended for fans and newcomers alike.
Cons
- •Occasional frame drops happen, especially while driving or in visually dense DLC areas, mainly in handheld mode.
- •Some players note that gyro and motion controls may not suit everyone’s preference, occasionally feeling less comfortable than traditional controls.
- •To fully benefit from performance mode’s 120 Hz support, you need a compatible TV, which might not be common for all users.
- •The game’s mature content means it’s not suitable for children.
- •Controls might feel better with customized or better-fitted controllers, indicating the standard JoyCons may not be ideal for all players.
Bottom Line
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is a surprisingly strong port that brings a visually stunning, smooth, and deeply engaging RPG experience to a portable system. While a few occasional frame drops and control nuances exist, the overall execution is polished and well worth it for fans of the game or those seeking premium portable play. If you’re after stunning graphics combined with immersive gameplay and cross-progression options, this is one of the best ways to experience Cyberpunk on the go. Just make sure you’re prepared for mature content, and if you prefer ultra-smooth performance, consider playing docked with a 120 Hz TV. If you want another premium portable RPG with strong performance but a different style, keep an eye out for releases on other platforms, but for Cyberpunk lovers, this port is hard to beat.
