Pros
- •Suitable for children, recommended for ages 7 and up.
- •Offers a variety of colors in a 12-pack, convenient for different art projects.
- •Compatible with most pencil boxes or carrying packs for easy transport.
- •Great for blending techniques; works well with tissue or cloth methods.
- •Enables fine lines or broad strokes by sharpening to a thin point.
- •Considered high quality compared to more expensive options and is a good value.
- •Vibrant and impressive color range.
Cons
- •Inconsistent color shades among boxes; significant variance with red, orange, blue, and green.
- •Leads frequently break, making them unusable after sharpening.
- •Requires significant pressure or multiple layers for bold color application.
- •Color output tends to be light and pale unless pressed hard.
- •Not recommended for long-term use due to durability issues.
Bottom Line
While the Cra-Z-art Colored Pencils offer vibrant colors and are well-suited for children's art projects, they fall short in durability and color intensity. Their tendency for leads to break easily and inconsistency in color shades can be frustrating, leading some users to recommend Crayola pencils as a better alternative for both quality and durability. Consider these factors before purchasing, especially if you're planning for frequent or long-term use.
