Cons
- •Mechanical keys tend to be loud; while the sound can be softened with O-rings, this keyboard is noticeably louder than membrane keyboards and may be distracting in quiet or office environments.
- •Sensitivity of the Cherry MX Speed switches can cause accidental key presses and repeated characters during regular typing, which might frustrate some users.
- •Lacks programmable macro keys, which may be a downside for users looking for extensive customization beyond lighting and standard key remapping.
- •Media wheel and controls are handy but don't replace the functionality of dedicated macro keys for power users.
- •Some users dislike the keycap font style as being less visually appealing.
- •USB passthrough requires an additional USB port on the computer, which might be inconvenient for limited port availability.
- •Initial wrist rest surface might feel sticky to some and requires cleaning to improve comfort.
- •The tactile but loud Cherry MX switches might not suit users who want a quieter keyboard experience.
Bottom Line
The Corsair K70 RGB PRO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a premium option for gamers and typists who prioritize high responsiveness, durable build quality, and full RGB customization. Its Cherry MX Speed switches deliver blisteringly fast input with satisfying feedback, though they do come with a louder typing profile and a sensitivity that can cause occasional typos. If you want a keyboard that looks great on a desk and integrates seamlessly with other Corsair hardware, this is a solid choice. However, if you seek quieter keys or require extensive macro programming, you might want to consider other options or accessories. Overall, it’s an excellent value for users who want performance and durability with style.
