Pros
- •Cats love munching on this grass, which proves effective when instructions are followed.
- •Suitable for both seasonal and year-round growth, in various locations such as planters, patios, or gardens.
- •Typically lasts around 4 weeks with proper care and can be brought inside for nibbling and outside for sunlight.
- •Well-received by cats, helping with hairball maintenance and the prevention of houseplant damage.
- •Sprouts quickly, with noticeable growth sometimes overnight.
- •No need for grow lights; regular sunlight and watering suffice.
Cons
- •Growth can be inconsistent, with some trays not sprouting or resulting in sparse growth.
- •Shallow rooting in provided vermiculite may hinder robust growth.
- •Requires careful attention to moisture levels, as overwatering can lead to mold or yellowing grass.
- •Some users have needed to replant into organic potting soil for better results, but this yields mixed success.
Bottom Line
Catit Cat Grass is a fantastic way to provide your feline friends with the greenery they enjoy while aiding in hairball management. While generally easy to grow with quick sprouting, users may face some variability in consistency. For best results, ensure correct moisture levels and consider replanting in potting soil if growth is sparse. If you're struggling with growth issues or seeking an alternative, it may be worthwhile to explore different types of wheatgrass products on the market.
