Pros
- •Good quality tire at a decent price.
- •Suitable for garden tractors, specifically for narrow frame Cub Cadet 102.
- •Tires appear well-made and have a sturdy, durable appearance.
- •Mounted easily on old rims without issues, especially after using simple home remedies like light heating and soapy water.
- •Provides better rolling performance due to the rubber material, as opposed to concrete alternatives.
- •Users report an overall positive experience and feel it offers significantly better quality compared to local farm store options.
Cons
- •Advertised as 6 ply, but noted to be only 2 ply, which could be misleading.
- •Not intended for trailer use despite being marketed as such.
- •Some difficulties in mounting due to receiving a distorted tire; needed additional steps to fit.
- •Misleading description about the country of origin, labeled as USA, but actually made in China.
- •Some disappointment over the image suggesting a rim was included when it was not.
Bottom Line
The Carlisle 5193181 Sport Trail Bias Trailer Tire provides a good balance of quality and affordability, making it an appealing choice for light garden equipment use. However, potential buyers should be aware of discrepancies in the ply rating and the country of origin to avoid any surprises. Though it delivers a positive user experience, the misleading marketing aspects warrant caution.
