Cons
- •The storyline is generally seen as average and not as compelling compared to other similar titles like Ghost of Tsushima or Sekiro.
- •Lack of a memorable or powerful main antagonist weakens the narrative’s emotional impact.
- •The final battle is described as underwhelming and disappointing given the build-up.
- •Main story and side quests sometimes blend together, which can slow down progression without external guidance.
- •Dense forest foliage occasionally hampers character visibility, affecting stealth gameplay.
- •Some players find the samurai playstyle less enjoyable compared to the shinobi due to pacing and mechanics.
- •Requires constant internet connection and Ubisoft account, which could be inconvenient for some users.
Bottom Line
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows - Limited Edition* is a visually stunning and mechanically rich journey into feudal Japan that offers two deeply contrasting playstyles and a rich world to explore. While its story might not reach the heights of similar samurai action games and the final showdown feels a bit flat, the combination of stealth, combat, and customization makes it a rewarding experience for Assassin’s Creed fans and newcomers alike. If you're looking for a captivating open-world adventure with excellent graphics and gameplay depth on PS5, this is a solid pick — especially for those who appreciate stealth gameplay. Just keep in mind the online requirements and story pacing quirks. If the emphasis on story and boss battles is a dealbreaker, you might also want to explore *Ghost of Tsushima* for a stronger narrative and more memorable antagonists.
