- •Durable design with a metal stem and arms, reducing breakage compared to all-plastic models.
- •Effective for picking up small items, including cigarette butts and debris.
- •Ideal for individuals recovering from surgery, enabling safer bending and reaching.
- •Strong locking mechanism ensures a secure grip.
- •Versatile, handling materials like broken glass and string.
- •Free replacement cups offered for outdoor use, with quick delivery.
- •The tool is heavier than expected but built to last, suggested for heavy-duty use.
Cons
- •Not repairable once broken; prone to frequent replacements due to planned obsolescence.
- •The internal design has a plastic rod inside a metal tube, complicating repairs.
- •Extremely lightweight and fragile, with some users reporting easy breakage.
- •Prone to breaking at the connection point where the cable meets the handle.
- •Plastic components, like the straps and connector piece, are brittle and break easily.
- •Blue cups can frequently detach during use.
- •Decline in quality compared to previous models, with 'Pro Plus' having a shorter lifespan.
Bottom Line
The ArcMate E-Z Reacher Pro Plus functions well for picking up light items and is useful for mobility-impaired individuals. However, it has significant durability issues due to fragile plastic components and an unrepairable design. If you're planning to use it for heavier tasks or outdoors, make use of the free outdoor replacement cups and consider a more robust model to avoid frequent replacements.
