Pros
- •Charges iPhone 17 from 40% to 100% in about 30 minutes at 15W, which is impressively fast for wireless charging.
- •Comes with a 30W USB-C adapter included, providing faster wired charging options as well.
- •Stays cool during shorter use sessions and operates reliably after extended periods.
- •Built with high-quality, sturdy materials and an excellent finish.
- •Performs solidly and quickly, especially with iPhone 13 and newer models.
- •Simple and straightforward charger that works well for MagSafe-compatible devices.
- •Considered on par with Apple's original MagSafe charger in terms of quality and performance.
- •Effectively revives older iPhones like the iPhone 11, extending its usability.
- •Delivers fast charging without complicated setup or compatibility issues.
Cons
- •The charger heats up significantly during extended use, which can be uncomfortable and concerning.
- •Overheating can cause charging to stop abruptly or become inefficient, limiting its reliability.
- •Using the phone while charging isn’t comfortable due to the heat and unusual domed shape causing wobbling unless placed face down.
- •Phone battery sometimes drains or charging pauses even while connected, indicating inconsistent power flow.
- •Charging speed slows drastically if the phone moves even slightly, and try repositioning can take a while to resume charging.
- •The shape and heat issues make it unsuitable for face-up use, limiting functionality if you want screen visibility while charging.
- •The fast wireless charging claim doesn’t consistently hold up in real-world use.
- •Some users feel the performance doesn’t justify the price, especially given these reliability and heat concerns.
Bottom Line
The Anker MagSafe Charger Pad, MagGo, is a sleek, well-built wireless charger that delivers fast charging speeds and includes a handy 30W adapter for wired charging. However, beware of significant overheating and occasional charging interruptions that can limit usability, especially if you want to use your phone while it charges. If you prioritize consistent cooler operation and seamless face-up phone use, this may not be the best fit despite its good build and fast potential. For those needing a mostly reliable MagSafe solution with quality materials, it’s a solid choice, but keep an eye on heat issues during long charges. If overheating and wobbling concerns feel like deal-breakers, you might want to explore alternative MagSafe chargers or look into dual-purpose chargers that offer better heat management and stability.
