Cons
- •Hardwire kit and microSD card are not included with purchase and must be bought separately.
- •Occasional “slow card” or beeping warnings can occur even with compatible SD cards; users may need to reformat multiple times or seek firmware support.
- •Wi-Fi video transfer can sometimes be slow or tricky, with occasional instability reported during connection or downloading.
- •Loop recording clips are relatively short (2 minutes), which may require manual deletion to preserve longer videos.
- •Once mounted, the strong adhesive is difficult to reposition, so careful placement is necessary to allow easy SD card access.
- •Installation cable management can be tiring or require patience to route neatly around car trims.
- •Night video quality, while excellent, is slightly less detailed compared to daytime recordings in very dark situations.
Bottom Line
The A229 Plus Dash Cam offers a robust dual-channel solution with outstanding 2K video quality, reliable night vision, and premium features like 24-hour parking mode, ultra-precise GPS, and voice control — all at a solid value. Keep in mind that the lack of an included hardwire kit or memory card means some extra purchases are necessary, and occasional SD card warnings might require troubleshooting. If you want top-tier image quality and stable 5GHz Wi-Fi in a well-built dash cam that won’t let you down in extreme weather, this is a smart pick. For those looking for a model with included accessories or easier video transfer, you might want to compare alternatives, but for many drivers, the A229 Plus hits the sweet spot between performance and price.
