🔌 ShopSavvy MCP Server Not Showing Up in Claude Desktop or Cursor

The usual causes are the wrong URL, a config file in the wrong place, or not restarting.

Quick fix

Use the server URL https://api.shopsavvy.com/mcp and fully restart the app.

Claude Desktop and claude.ai

  • Easiest: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, name it ShopSavvy, paste https://api.shopsavvy.com/mcp, and choose no sign-in. Free plans can add one custom connector; on Team and Enterprise an owner adds it under Organization settings > Connectors.
  • If you use the config file instead, it must be at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS) or %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json (Windows), with "command": "npx" and "args": ["-y", "@shopsavvy/mcp-server"] under mcpServers.shopsavvy. This option needs Node.js 18 or newer.
  • Quit Claude Desktop completely (not just close the window) and reopen it.

Cursor

  • Add the server in Cursor Settings > MCP, or edit ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project) with "url": "https://api.shopsavvy.com/mcp" under mcpServers.shopsavvy.
  • Restart Cursor.

Still not working

  • Check the JSON is valid (a missing comma breaks the whole file).
  • If your client only supports the older SSE transport, use https://api.shopsavvy.com/mcp/sse.
  • Without a key the server allows 10 tool calls a minute and 100 an hour. Add a Data API key (SHOPSAVVY_API_KEY for the npm package) for 100 a minute.

Setup for every client: shopsavvy.com/agents.
