ShopSavvy Is Ready for iPhone Duo

ShopSavvy for iPhone is ready for iPhone Duo. Version 19.0.2 is on the App Store now, and it fits both of Duo's screens: the outer one when the phone is closed, and the big inner one when you open it up.

Closed: the whole app

Closed, iPhone Duo is a regular-size phone, and ShopSavvy is the full app on it. Search, Alerts, Scan, Watching and More are all there. The tabs sit in a slim bar along the side of the screen, so your results, prices and deals get the full height.

You can scan a barcode in the aisle, check prices online and at stores nearby, and set a price alert without ever opening the phone.

Open: more room for prices

Open it up and ShopSavvy spreads out to fill the bigger screen. Held upright, you get a roomier single column with two deal cards to a row.

Turn it sideways and pages go side by side:

  • Products keep the photos and title on the left, with prices, deals, reviews and comments on the right.
  • Deals show the deal on one side and the conversation about it on the other.
  • Deal grids go four across.

Open it, close it, keep going

You don't have to pick a pose before you start. Open the phone in the middle of comparing prices and you're on the same product, now with more room. Close it again and you're still there. Your tab, the page you were on and the way back all stay put. Only the layout changes.

That works because ShopSavvy picks its layout from how much room it has, not from which device it's on. It's the same reason it fits iPad Split View and a rotated iPhone.

Since 2008
