Browser Extensions Update: Desktop Notifications, Right-Click Menu, and More
Our browser extension got a nice round of improvements this week. Here's what's new.
Desktop notifications when a scan wraps up
When you load a product page, the extension scans across retailers to find the best price. That can take a few seconds. Now if you click away to another tab, you'll get a Chrome notification when the scan is done, so you don't have to keep checking.
Right-click menu
Right-click anywhere and you'll see ShopSavvy options: compare this page, search for a product, or jump to your watching list. Handy when you're on a product page that didn't auto-detect, or you just want to search without opening a new tab first.
Refresh button on the widget
The price comparison widget now has a refresh button. If prices change while you're still on the page, tap it to re-scan.
Pulse animation when new offers land
Small thing, but nice: when the extension finds new offers on a page, the widget pulses for a second so you actually notice it.
Count badge on the Watching tab
A little number shows how many products you're currently watching, so you can tell what's in there without opening it.
New install welcome page
First-time users now land on a proper welcome page with pin-to-toolbar instructions and a quick tour of what the extension does.
Other stuff
- Clearer hover tooltips across the UI
- Refreshed search results and empty states
- Tooltip on the toolbar badge so you know what the number means
Chrome, Edge, and Safari all get these. If you haven't installed it yet, grab it from shopsavvy.com/browser.
