Is your Nintendo Switch 2 bulging? This is serious. Here's what to do.
How to tell:
The back panel is pushing out. The screen is separating from the frame. The console doesn't lay flat.
Stop using it immediately.
Do not charge it. Do not play it. Do not try to fix it yourself.
Call Nintendo:
1-800-255-3700. Tell them you have battery swelling. They'll arrange repair or replacement. Usually covered under warranty.
While you wait:
Put it somewhere cool and dry. Not in direct sunlight. Not near anything flammable.
Why this is serious:
Lithium-ion batteries can catch fire when they swell. Do NOT puncture, squeeze, or open it. Do NOT try to remove the battery yourself.
Prevention:
Don't leave it charging constantly at 100%. Don't leave it in hot cars. Don't leave it in sleep mode while charging for days.
Warranty expired?
Call Nintendo anyway. They often help with battery problems given safety concerns.
