What It Does:

• Loud subway → More noise cancellation
• Quiet street → More ambient sound
• Car honk → Safety sounds pass through
• You start talking → Audio lowers (with Conversation Awareness)

How to Enable: Control Center > touch and hold volume > tap "Adaptive"

How to Customize: Settings > Bluetooth > [your AirPods] > Adaptive Audio

Slider controls default noise level:

• Toward "Quieter" = more noise blocking
• Toward "Noisier" = more environmental awareness
