The JBL Quantum Stream microphone has two main polar patterns: Cardioid and Omnidirectional. You can switch between these using either the JBL QuantumEngine software or a physical button on the mic itself—super convenient, right?
Cardioid Polar Pattern
When you set it to Cardioid, the mic mainly picks up sound from the front and minimizes noise from the sides and back. This is great for focusing on a single sound source, like your voice while gaming or streaming.
The manufacturer claims this pattern helps in getting clear and precise audio by cutting out background noise.
Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
Switching to Omnidirectional means the mic captures sound equally from all directions. This is handy for situations like conference calls or group recordings, where you need to pick up voices from multiple directions.
According to our research, while you might get a bit more ambient noise with this setting, it does give a more natural sound quality.
In short, the Cardioid and Omnidirectional patterns on the JBL Quantum Stream give you flexibility depending on what you need.
Whether you want to isolate your voice or catch sound from all around, this mic has you covered. Plus, switching between the patterns is a breeze.
