The Razer Phone Cooler Chroma seems to do a pretty good job with its cooling system and flashy RGB lights, but it's not perfect. Here’s what we've found about the main concerns people have with it.
First off, there’s an issue with the universal clamp. The manufacturer describes it as working with a bunch of different smartphones, but our research shows it might not fit phones with cases. So, if you like using a case on your phone, you might need to take it off to make the cooler fit properly.
Seems like it works best with slim or case-less phones, which could be a hassle for some.
Now, when it comes to cooling, the Razer Phone Cooler Chroma really delivers. It's got a seven-blade fan that goes up to 6400 RPM, paired with a thermoelectric cooler and an aluminum heat sink. This setup gets a lot of praise for stopping thermal throttling, especially during intense gaming sessions.
But one thing to note is that it needs a USB-C power source to run. So, without a portable power bank, using it while you're out and about might be tricky.
As for the RGB lighting, it's typical Razer style, allowing for customization through their software. Some folks love this fun feature, while others think it's a bit unnecessary if you're more into function than looks.
Durability is another concern, especially with the clamp. Some reports mention it breaking pretty quickly, which raises questions about how long the cooler will last if you're not careful with it.
All in all, the Razer Phone Cooler Chroma is great for cooling and has some cool features, but keep in mind its quirks. Handling the clamp gently and planning for power needs can help in making the best use of this device.
