The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 has a bunch of features that can really step up your smartphone video game. The main thing it's known for is its stabilization capabilities. This means you can get smooth, professional-looking videos, even if you're filming while moving around.
So if you're into vlogging or content creation, or just hate the dreaded shaky cam, this could be helpful for you.
As per the manufacturer's product description, the Osmo Mobile 6 works with most standard smartphones. It can handle phones up to 290 grams in weight and between 6.9 to 10 mm thick. It also has a magnetic phone clamp which makes it easy and secure to attach your phone quickly.
Then there's the ActiveTrack 6.0 feature, which is pretty neat—it's smart tracking that keeps your subject in the middle of the frame, even if they're moving. Plus, with the DJI Mimo app, you get various shooting modes that help you get a bit more creative with your smartphone videos.
Now, if you're using a foldable phone or one with a really thick case, there might be some hiccups. Our research shows that these non-standard phones can have issues with balance and staying secure.
The magnetic clamp might struggle with bigger or oddly shaped devices, which can mess with the stability. So if you've got one of those foldable models or a phone that's a bit out of the ordinary, it's a good idea to double-check if they'll work with this gimbal.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 might have trouble with phones that don't fit the usual specs, affecting features like the Mimo app’s auto adjustments and tracking.
In short, if your phone fits within the weight and size that the manufacturer specifies, it should work pretty smoothly. But, if you run into issues, you might want to consider looking at other options or future models that could handle your phone better, based on what some folks have experienced according to our research.
