Hey there! So, about the MHDMAG Grappling Hook—it's got this cool 3-Claw design and comes with a 65ft nylon rope, but it’s meant more for retrieving items from tricky spots, like fishing something out of the water, rather than climbing.
When it comes to measurements, they haven't been specifically listed by the manufacturer, which is a bit of a bummer, but our research suggests it's made for light retrieval tasks.
As for its strength, this bigger version can handle up to about 132 pounds. It's designed to be fairly sturdy, but definitely not something you'd rely on for climbing or supporting body weight—could be dangerous!
It's made of stainless steel, so it's built to last and resist rusting, which is handy for using outdoors where it might get wet.
From what we've gathered, if you're planning to use it for more intense activities, you'll want to upgrade the rope and carabiner since the ones it comes with might not really do the job. People have pointed out the rope is on the thinner side, and that might not be ideal for gripping surfaces securely.
Some folks have also mentioned the durability of the rope and the quality of the carabiner could be better. So, if you're thinking about using it for heavy-duty stuff, a bit of prep and a risk assessment wouldn't hurt.
Tuning it up with better components could really make a difference for more demanding tasks.
In any case, always prioritize safety when you're using gear like this. It's especially important if you're putting it to work under heavier loads.
Hope this helps!
