🤖The iPhone 17 Pro comes loaded with Apple Intelligence, Apple's AI feature suite that runs right on your phone. Here's what you actually get and what's still coming.

What Works Right Now

Smarter Siri Siri got a noticeable upgrade on the iPhone 17 Pro. It sounds more natural, understands context better, and you can type to it when you don't want to talk out loud. The coolest part? Siri can now see what's on your screen. If someone texts you an address, just say "add this to their contact" and Siri handles it automatically.

Writing Tools The writing tools are genuinely useful for everyday tasks. You can highlight text pretty much anywhere and have Apple Intelligence proofread it, rewrite it in a different tone, or summarize long documents. This works in Mail, Notes, Messages, and most third-party apps.

Photo Features For photos, the Clean Up feature is surprisingly good at removing photobombers or random objects you don't want in your shots. Visual Intelligence lets you point your camera at things to learn more about them—it works great for identifying plants, products, or landmarks when you're out and about.

Communication Live Translation provides real-time conversation translation, which can save you in a pinch when traveling abroad. Smart Reply suggestions help you respond to messages quickly.

ChatGPT Integration You can connect ChatGPT to Siri for more complex questions. The system asks permission first, but when Siri hits its limits, ChatGPT can step in to help with research, creative writing, and detailed explanations.

What's Not Here Yet

The really impressive stuff Apple showed off—like asking Siri "when is my mom's flight landing?" and having it automatically check your messages and flight tracking apps—has been pushed to 2026. Reports suggest Apple may be working with Google to enhance Siri using their Gemini AI technology.

Why the 17 Pro Handles AI Better

The new vapor chamber cooling system actually matters for Apple Intelligence features. AI processing generates significant heat, and earlier iPhones would throttle performance when things got too warm. The iPhone 17 Pro stays cool enough to run these features smoothly without the slowdowns that plagued the 15 Pro and 16 Pro.
