If you're planning on making a king cake for Mardi Gras, the Mam Papaul's Mardi Gras King Cake Mix Kit can help you get the ball rolling. It includes the classic plastic baby, which is sort of a big deal for king cakes. According to the manufacturer's description, this little baby gets hidden inside the cake for someone to find. Traditionally, the person who discovers it is said to enjoy good luck, and often they'll have the honor of organizing the next party.

However, some folks have mentioned that their kit was missing the baby. Our research indicates that this isn't super common, but it has happened. So, it might be a good idea to double-check your kit when it arrives to make sure everything's there.

In one case, someone got two kits but only received one baby. Again, that's not typical, but it's worth being aware of.

On the bright side, people really like this kit for how simple and authentic it is. You don't need to be a baking whiz to use it—it's designed to be straightforward, so you can make a tasty king cake that feels like it's straight out of New Orleans.

In short, while it's smart to make sure your kit has all the pieces, Mam Papaul's tends to deliver a satisfying, traditional experience. This kit usually has everything you need for a true Mardi Gras treat, complete with that little plastic surprise.
