If you're considering the Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair and wondering if it's worth the steep price, I get it—it's not a small investment. Based on what we've found, there are a few things to think about that might help you decide.
First off, the chair doesn't come with a removable tray as standard. The manufacturer describes it as a design choice to let your kiddo sit right at the family dining table. The idea is to promote interaction during meals, which can help kids feel more included and part of the family. From what we've seen, this setup is meant to boost both ergonomic and developmental benefits by doing away with a separate tray.
If you're thinking you really need a tray, don't worry. Stokke sells a compatible tray separately, but it's good to know this will add roughly another $65 to the cost. This is something to keep in mind if you feel a tray is a must.
We noticed some mixed feelings about this tray situation. A chunk of folks felt let down considering the chair's premium price—they expected the tray would be included as part of the deal. You might want to check out bundle offers with a tray, or just plan for the extra buy if a tray is something you'll frequently use.
On another note, many people believe the real value of the Tripp Trapp is its quality and the fact it can last from toddler years into adulthood. Its adjustability, durability, and stylish design often convince people that it's worth the cost.
Ultimately, whether it's right for you depends on how much you value these features and if the design fits in with your family's dining routine.
