The display crease on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still present but noticeably less visible than on previous models. Samsung has made genuine improvements, though complete elimination remains a future goal.
What Samsung Improved
The Z Fold 7's redesigned Armor FlexHinge uses advanced alloy components and a multi-rail structure, allowing the display to lie flatter when open. This directly reduces crease visibility.
Real-World Visibility
| Scenario | Crease Visibility | |----------|------------------| | Head-on viewing | Minimal—most users forget about it | | Angled lighting | More visible at certain angles | | Touch sensation | Slight ridge when swiping across center | | After 2-3 days | Brain adapts; becomes unnoticeable |
Factors Affecting Visibility
- Screen brightness: More visible at lower brightness
- Content type: Less visible on colorful content; more visible on white backgrounds
- Viewing angle: Most apparent under direct lighting
- Adaptation: Visual system stops registering it over time
Competitive Positioning
The Z Fold 7's crease is comparable to or slightly better than competitors like the Honor Magic V5. Complete crease elimination hasn't been achieved industry-wide.
The Bottom Line
Most users report the crease becomes a non-issue within the first few days. However, if display perfection is essential, you may want to see the device in person before purchasing. Visit a Samsung store or carrier location to evaluate the crease for yourself.
