Yeah, the Peak Design Black Shell is quite practical for photographers who like to shoot in unpredictable conditions.
It's designed to shield your camera from rain, dust, and snow without being a pain to use when you're ready to snap a picture. The material is a 4-way weatherproof stretch fabric that's also seam-taped, so it holds up well against the elements and doesn't tear easily. Super handy when you're out capturing moments in the wild!
As for using your camera with this cover on, our research shows it's set up so you can still reach your camera's controls and viewfinder. You might need to lift the cover occasionally, especially when zooming in. Just a heads-up, lifting it means exposing your camera to the weather for a moment, which some people found a bit annoying.
When it comes to sizing, the medium size fits snugly on crop-sensor DSLRs with larger lenses or battery grips and on full-frame DSLRs with lenses up to 24-70mm f/2.8, minus a battery grip.
Feedback is mixed on the fit, though. Some folks find it a bit tight on setups like the Panasonic LUMIX S5II, while others think it's just right for larger lenses with different cameras.
So, getting the correct size is key. Make sure it matches your camera and lens combo for the best fit.
Overall, the Peak Design Black Shell seems to strike a good balance between protection and usability, making it a nice option for those weather-challenging photoshoots according to our research.
