The KONG Extreme Dog Toy is known for being super tough, especially for those dogs who love to chew with all their might. It's made from really durable natural rubber, designed for big power chewers. The folks who make it say it's built to handle some serious gnawing, and from what we've found, many dog owners would agree.
Our research shows that plenty of people with strong chewers—like pit bulls and German Shepherds—praise the KONG Extreme for standing up to their dogs' best efforts. The toy's unpredictable bounce and ability to hold treats keep dogs busy and entertained too, which supports what the manufacturer claims about its toughness.
But, it's not all perfect. There are some notes about the toy getting a bit beat up sooner than some folks expected, especially if a dog is really trying to test its limits.
It seems like the durability can vary based on how intense your dog likes to chew. It's a good idea to keep an eye on your dog when they first start playing with it, just to see how it holds up.
It's super tough, but not indestructible, so watch for any wear and tear to avoid any issues if pieces break off.
Now, about whether it's dishwasher safe: It didn't come up in most reviews, but the manufacturer does say you can clean it on the top rack of your dishwasher. So, keeping it clean should be pretty easy, which is great for both you and your pup!
