nullYes, and it's fixed from the 2024 disaster. Dell addressed the biggest complaints.
What went wrong in 2024:
The touchpad was completely invisible. No border, nothing to indicate where it started or stopped. You'd slide off the edge constantly because you couldn't see it.
What's better in 2026:
Dell added subtle etched lines along the edges. You can see where the touchpad is. Simple fix that works.
Touchpad specs:
- Size: 5.7" × 3.5" (one of the largest in class)
- Glass surface with precise tracking
- All gestures work: scroll, pinch, three-finger and four-finger swipes
- Solid palm rejection
How does it compare to MacBook?
MacBook trackpads are still slightly larger with slightly more refined haptic feedback. The difference is minor now. XPS 14 touchpad is competitive.
The haptic click:
No mechanical mechanism. Motors simulate the click sensation. Works anywhere on the surface. Takes adjustment if you're used to traditional trackpads.
Bottom line: If the 2024 invisible touchpad kept you away, that problem is solved. The etched borders make a real difference. Check XPS 14 availability now that the usability issues are fixed.
