Hey! So, the CURT 48231 Pintle Hook Hitch is pretty solid if you've got heavy towing jobs in mind—like, we're talking a massive 60,000 lbs towing capacity. The manufacturer's description says it's made for lunette rings with an inside diameter from 2-1/2 to 3 inches, which gives it some flexibility.
One thing to note, though, is how you're gonna mount this thing. It's designed for a direct mount, and it comes with a bolt kit (they call it hardware #48332).
But heads up—our research mentions that some folks have run into a few hiccups with the installation. Apparently, the screw dimensions might throw you a curveball, meaning you might need to resize the existing holes to make them fit. So, if you're planning to use it, just be ready to possibly enlarge those holes a bit for the bolts.
The hitch itself is built tough. It's made from solid forged steel with a black carbide powder finish to hold up against rust and scratches. So it's gonna last through some rough conditions.
Plus, it has a spring-loaded arm function to lock the trailer securely onto the hook, so you know it's not going anywhere.
Overall, it's a great choice if you're in the market for a sturdy towing setup. Just keep in mind those possible adjustments when you're installing it.
With a bit of tweaking, this hitch can definitely be a reliable part of your heavy-duty towing gear.
