Figuring out if the CableCreation USB C to VGA Adapter works with Apple 30-inch Cinema Displays isn't completely clear-cut.
From what we've found, it's a bit of a hit or miss, depending on your specific hardware setup, like which models and configurations you're using. The manufacturer doesn't mention Apple 30-inch Cinema Displays as compatible in their product description. But they do say the adapter supports devices with DP Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4, which are features some Apple devices have.
So, there's a chance it might work with devices that connect to a 30-inch Cinema Display. When it comes to real-world usage, experiences vary. Some folks have been able to use this adapter with their Apple gear and get things working, but others hit snags. Issues include the display not appearing on their 30-inch Cinema Display or experiencing connection drops now and then.
These problems could be due to different hardware or software setups, like having a particular Mac model or version. So, if you're trying this adapter with an Apple setup, double-check that your Mac and Cinema Display meet all the requirements.
Installing any available software updates or adjusting settings might help with any hiccups. If you find that problems keep cropping up, it might be worth looking into other adapters that people with the same display have found to work well.
Sometimes switching to another option known to be reliable can save you some headaches.
In short, while the CableCreation USB C to VGA Adapter might work with Apple 30-inch Cinema Displays sometimes, be ready for some troubleshooting. It’s wise to have a backup plan or consider an alternative adapter proven to be compatible with your setup if issues persist.
