If you're thinking about Purina Pro Plan High Protein Dry Puppy Food (the Chicken and Rice Formula) for your puppy with a sensitive stomach, there's a bit to consider.
First off, it uses real chicken as the main ingredient, which the manufacturer claims provides high-quality protein that's crucial for building your pup's muscles as they grow.
From what we've found, many people have positive things to say about the nutritional benefits. Some puppy owners mention that the protein helps their puppies grow and stay active. Also, the DHA and omega-rich nutrients in the formula are supposed to support a healthy coat and energy levels.
But it's not all perfect; there are a few hiccups. Some folks noticed inconsistencies in the product depending on where they bought it. Reports included issues like missing chicken pieces or changes in kibble texture, which sometimes led to pups not wanting to eat it or having mild stomach upset. These issues seem more common when buying from certain sellers.
To avoid these problems, you might want to stick with verified sellers or buy directly from the manufacturer.
And if you do notice any issues with your puppy's stomach or the food itself, checking in with your vet is always a good move. They can help figure out whether the food is the issue or if something else might be going on.
Overall, the Purina Pro Plan High Protein Dry Puppy Food gets a thumbs up for its nutritional perks, especially for growing puppies. If your pup has a sensitive stomach, it might be worth a shot, but double-check the purchase source and keep an eye on your puppy's reaction.
