The CRAFTSMAN CMEW300 planer packs quite a punch with its 6 Amp motor, making it a favorite among folks who love woodworking. It spins at 16,500 RPM, which is pretty fast, and great for smoothing out both hard and soft woods easily.
When it comes to power, this planer is up for most home and pro projects. According to our research, people have used it for planing doors, shelves, and other wood stuff, and they say it cuts clean and precise. That high speed really helps to leave a smooth finish, which is something you might appreciate if detail is your thing.
Just a heads up, though: some people have run into issues with missing bits in the packaging. Even though the manufacturer says it should come with a dust bag, apparently that's not always the case. So, if you really need that accessory, it's probably a good idea to double-check with the seller or directly with CRAFTSMAN before buying.
If dust control is a big deal for you, and you find out the dust bag isn't included, you might want to see if other stores have it or if there are alternative solutions available that could work for you.
Anyway, apart from the packaging hiccup, the general vibe around this planer is positive. It's powerful and efficient, making it a solid pick for woodworking.
Just make sure you're clear on what comes with it and that it fits your needs before you pull the trigger on the purchase.
