The Orbic Speed 5G UW Mobile Hotspot RC400L can handle quite a crowd—it supports up to 30 devices at once. This makes it a handy option if you need to connect a bunch of devices while you're out and about or even in a small office.
The manufacturer mentions that the hotspot works with both 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G Nationwide, potentially offering download speeds up to 4.0 Gbps under the right conditions. Just keep in mind that these speeds really depend on where you're located and the availability of Verizon's C-band coverage. So, if you're in a more rural area, the speed might not hit those high notes.
It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 modem, which, even though it's not the most current model, still provides reliable service for secure connections on Verizon’s 5G and 4G LTE networks. This modem gives you decent support for activities ranging from streaming to video calls.
On the size front, the Orbic Speed is a bit substantial, measuring 4.92 by 3.35 by 0.87 inches and weighing about 9.91 ounces. It's not the easiest to slip into a pocket if you like to travel light, but for a bag, it works.
Battery-wise, it comes with a 4,400 mAh rechargeable battery, which should generally last you through a day of typical use. However, our research suggests that if you're heavily using 5G, the battery might only last around 9 hours, or even less if you're going full throttle on data usage.
One thing to note is there's no option to connect an external antenna, which could be a downside in areas with weaker signals. So, if you're somewhere with spotty reception, that might be a consideration.
In a nutshell, the Orbic Speed 5G UW is a solid bet for connecting a lot of devices and enjoying fast internet when everything is lined up right. Just keep an eye on the potential downsides, like its battery life and lack of external antenna support, especially if you’re often in places with less optimal signal conditions.
