So, the KitchenAid Large Capacity, Full Size Dish Rack is meant for holding quite a bit of stuff—think dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. The manufacturer describes it as having rust-resistant stainless steel, which sounds impressive.

But, our research shows that over time, some people have noticed rust, especially if it's always wet or exposed to moisture. The manufacturer also talks about its satin-coated finish and sturdy wires, adding to its rust-resistant selling points.

Even with these features, living in places with high humidity or salty air, like near the coast, can still speed up rusting. People have mentioned seeing rust pop up after extended use, sometimes within a year.

To avoid rust, some folks have shared a few tips: make sure to dry the rack properly after each use and keep it in a spot with good air circulation to help it dry out. This can cut down on moisture build-up, which is a big part of the rust problem.

If rust happens, gently clean it with a non-abrasive pad. Putting on a rust-protective finish might also help the rack last longer.

If rust keeps being a headache, it's worth checking your warranty. You can also reach out to KitchenAid for help or maybe even a replacement if it becomes a problem soon after purchase.

Our research suggests that a little maintenance goes a long way in keeping your dish rack in good shape.
