The Weaver Leather CoolAid Equine Cooling Blanket is pretty effective at helping horses cool down. It features something called Coolcore technology, which can cool horses down to about 30% below their skin temperature without using any chemicals, keeping it safe and gentle for your horse.
The cooling process is pretty straightforward. You just need to wet the blanket and let the air do its job, which helps cool your horse quicker, especially after exercise or before something strenuous. If your horse is sweaty, you can also use it dry to help with moisture evaporation and temperature regulation.
It's made from durable and breathable materials, according to the manufacturer's description, so it should hold up well and stay comfy in various weather conditions. The blanket also allows good airflow, making it a great option whether it's hot summer days or cooler winter months.
It comes with adjustable straps for a snug fit on most horses. However, according to our research, some horses with unique shapes might need special adjustments or a different size.
Many who have tried it find it really easy to use and quite effective—for example, one person mentioned it really helped reduce cooling times for their horse in hot climates during endurance events.
Overall, the blanket seems to be a versatile and reliable tool for managing your horse's body temperature. Just be sure to pick the right size to ensure it fits your horse comfortably.
With the right size, this cooling blanket could be a handy addition to your horse care routine.
