If you're thinking about setting up the Gibraltar Mailboxes Mailsafe Large Capacity Post-Mount Mailbox (model RSKB0000), it's pretty straightforward. The manufacturer's description mentions that it's designed with easy installation in mind.

So, even if you're not a DIY pro, you should be able to handle it. You'll get clear instructions, and with just basic tools like a screwdriver—and maybe a drill—you should be set.

From what we've gathered, many folks don't find the installation complicated at all. Some have even managed to get it done in less than an hour. It has pre-drilled holes, so lining it up with your post isn't too tricky, and since it's mostly made of plastic, it's pretty light and easy to maneuver during setup.

Just remember, you'll want to make sure your post is sturdy and well-installed first. The mailbox's body is mainly plastic, but it does have some metal parts. Our research mentions that these metal bits could be iffy in places with rough weather, especially coastal areas.

So, plan the location with that in mind to help it last longer. If you're swapping out an old mailbox, double-check that the post is still solid. If not, you might have to replace or reinforce it, which would mean grabbing a new base or bracket.

Overall, following the installation guide should mean a smooth process. If you're near the coast, you might want to think about how to protect those metal parts from rust.

Or, if rust-proofing is a big concern, maybe look for options that are meant to withstand wetter climates. But for regular conditions, the Gibraltar RSKB0000 should be an easy and solid choice to install.
