Setting up the Schacht Flip 25" Rigid Heddle Loom isn't too difficult for most folks, though there are a couple of parts that might trip you up a bit at first. From what we've gathered, the initial setup is generally quite doable, but connecting the apron cords and bars to the beams can be a bit confusing. Many people think clearer instructions or a video tutorial could really help with this part.
The loom is designed with some pretty practical features, like its folding mechanism, making storage and transport super easy. You can set it up in different ways too. Whether you want to hook it to the edge of a table, clamp it for stand-up weaving, or plop it on a trestle stand, you've got options.
Plus, it folds up neatly without needing to remove the warp—a real perk if you're short on space or on the move.
The loom is also praised for its sturdy construction and fine-toothed nylon ratchets, which allow for precise tension control. These features make it easier for you to achieve more detailed textures in your projects.
Overall, while the assembly instructions could be a bit clearer, the Schacht Flip Loom remains a sturdy, well-constructed choice for anyone interested in weaving. It's a good balance of practicality and design, ideal whether you're working at home or taking your weaving elsewhere.
