If you're thinking about picking up the Travelpro Platinum Elite 21-Inch Carry-On, you'll be glad to know that its durability is pretty impressive. From what we've gathered, it's built from high-density nylon fabric known for standing up to wear and tear, which is great for those of us who don't like to baby our luggage. Plus, it has leather accents and chrome zippers that give it a stylish look while boosting its sturdiness.
The manufacturer mentions that it comes with a Duraguard coating, which helps protect against stains and scratches—definitely a plus if you're tossing it around between flights. Now, we all know that wheels and handles tend to take a beating, but this bag has a smooth-rolling wheel system and a handle that's adjustable and doesn't wobble.
From our research, lots of folks have mentioned that the bag holds up well over time. Some had initial thoughts about the USB port needing an external power bank, but it doesn't really affect the bag's toughness. It's more like a little bonus feature if you remember to carry a power bank with you.
A stand-out bit of feedback is that even after using it a bunch, the zippers still work smoothly, and the fabric looks good as new. There's also a well-padded interior that keeps your stuff secure, and the outside can take a fair amount of travel abuse.
Sure, not having a built-in battery might be a downside for those relying on the USB port, but when it comes to durability, this carry-on really delivers. If you're someone who's always jet-setting around, this could be just the reliable companion you need.
Just don't forget your power bank if you plan to use that USB port!
