The Nelson Rigg Defender Extreme Motorcycle Cover holds up well when it comes to durability and protecting motorcycles in different weather conditions. It seems to be a solid pick for keeping your bike safe outdoors.
The manufacturer mentions that the cover is made from UltraMax fabric, known for being fade-resistant, which means it should last a while even if it's in direct sunlight a lot. This fabric also includes heat-taped seams to keep things waterproof, so your motorcycle stays dry even if it pours down.
An interesting thing about this cover is the Perma-Venting system. It's supposed to help with air circulation and minimize condensation, which can prevent mildew from developing under the cover. Definitely a thoughtful touch for outdoor use.
From what we've found, it seems like people generally agree on its effectiveness. Many have praised it for keeping their bikes dry, even in heavy rains. For example, someone in Southern California noted that it handled prolonged rainstorms pretty well, keeping their motorcycle nice and dry.
The cover also has heat-resistant panels, which is a plus for protecting exhaust pipes. Overall, the manufacturer claims it offers full coverage not just against rain and sun but also other elements that could cause wear and tear.
While it's mostly seen as durable, there are a few mentions of some wear and tear, like the seam tapes starting to peel after a couple of years. So, it might be worth keeping an eye on those spots to make sure it keeps working well over time.
All things considered, the Nelson Rigg Defender Extreme appears to be a top choice for many motorcycle enthusiasts. Its sturdy build and well-thought-out features make it a reliable option if you're planning to store your bike outside, no matter the weather.
