When it comes to the durability of the leather sheath included with the Fury Mustang Folding Knife and Hoof Pick, our research paints a pretty balanced picture, but overall it's positive. The sheath is all leather and has a handy belt loop for easy carrying, according to the manufacturer's description. This setup keeps the knife accessible and secure, which is a big plus if you're into equestrian activities or just love the outdoors.
From what we've found, the leather sheath generally holds up well under normal conditions. People seem satisfied with how it protects the knife and how easy it is to carry around.
Just keep in mind, leather is a natural material, so it's going to start showing wear and tear if it's constantly exposed to tough conditions or a lot of use. A bit of regular care, like conditioning the leather, can really help extend its life.
As for the knife itself, it's quite practical for horseback riders and outdoor folks. It has a lockback mechanism for extra safety and is made from 440C stainless steel, which is known for its hardness and corrosion resistance. The blade is pretty versatile, good for stuff like cutting baling twine or picking stones from horse hooves.
Though, some have mentioned you might need to sharpen it when you first get it to get the best performance.
Now, if you really need a clip for carrying, it's worth noting that the Fury Mustang Folding Knife doesn't come with one. While the sheath's belt loop is useful, you might have to consider other mods or accessories if a clip is crucial for you.
If this is an important feature for you, checking out something like the CASE XX Amber Bone Equestrian’s Knife might be a better fit, as it has more options on that front.
In summary, the leather sheath for the Fury Mustang is generally seen as durable if you're using it under regular conditions.
However, if you need specific features like a clip, you might need to look into additional solutions or alternative products.
