When we're talking about ray tracing, the XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 6950XT does pretty well compared to Nvidia's GPUs, but there are some things to keep in mind.
It doesn't support Nvidia's DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), which can be a bummer if you really value that tech. Instead, it uses AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), which, from what we've gathered, helps boost frame rates and picture quality in certain games, somewhat like DLSS does.
Now, when it comes to overall ray tracing performance, Nvidia generally has an edge, especially with their RTX line.
But the RX 6950XT is no slouch, especially in games that are optimized for AMD. It's pretty solid for high-res gaming, particularly at 1440p and even 4K, as our research shows. It may not always hit the top-tier ray tracing that Nvidia's top models do, but it still offers a good experience.
The card also comes with a triple fan cooling setup, thanks to XFX’s MERC319 design, to help keep things cool during intense gaming sessions.
But something to consider—some folks have mentioned issues like coil whine and higher power consumption.
So, if you're set on having DLSS, this might not be the card for you. But if you're fine with FSR and want strong performance, the RX 6950XT could be a great choice, especially if you're already into AMD or looking for a potentially cheaper option than Nvidia's latest high-end GPUs.
Ultimately, it all depends on what you're looking for in your gaming setup.
