The Pixel 8 Pro is pretty exciting for tech fans, as it's quite an upgrade from the earlier Pixel models. One thing to note is that it doesn't come with a pre-installed screen protector. The manufacturer describes it as having a sturdy build with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is known for being tough and resistant to scratches.
But if you're someone who likes to keep their phone in perfect shape, you might want to add a third-party screen protector.
As for the display, the Pixel 8 Pro hits the mark with its 6.7-inch Super Actua OLED screen, known for bright, vibrant colors. It handles different lighting well, whether you're indoors or outside in the sun. Our research shows that people are generally happy with how it performs in various lighting conditions.
Still, if you're keen on keeping your display in pristine condition, getting a good screen protector is a smart move.
When looking at how it stacks up against past Pixel models, the Pixel 8 Pro really shines in camera and processing power. Earlier versions set a high standard, but the Pixel 8 Pro takes things up a notch with its improved camera sensors and software, making it easier to capture detailed and dynamic images, even in tricky lighting.
If you do decide to get a screen protector, make sure it fits the phone's dimensions precisely. That way, you maintain the touch screen sensitivity and clarity, sidestepping issues like poor fits and reduced usability. Many protectors also have an oleophobic coating to keep fingerprints and smudges at bay, making day-to-day use even better.
Choosing the right screen protector and applying it carefully, to avoid bubbles or misalignment, can really boost the durability of your Pixel 8 Pro. While the phone itself is a major leap forward with its design and performance, a little extra protection can provide peace of mind and help your device last longer.
All in all, the Pixel 8 Pro is a significant improvement over earlier models, making it a top pick for anyone who values cutting-edge tech and practical durability.
