The ASICS Novablast 4 has made some fit updates compared to the older versions. If you're familiar with its predecessors, you'll likely find these changes interesting. It's still about comfort and performance, but there are a few tweaks that might affect what you prefer.
Fit and Design Enhancements
According to the manufacturer's product description, the Novablast 4 keeps up its reputation for comfort and energy return. They've added a breathable polyester mesh upper and upgraded the midsole with the FF BLAST PLUS ECO.
These changes aim to give a snug yet airy feel, building on the cushioning and lightness the earlier models were known for.
What Others Are Saying
Our research found that a lot of folks think the Novablast 4 fits a bit more streamlined. They've made some tweaks in how the upper is constructed, giving you a better lockdown feel without losing comfort.
So, if you liked the spring and flexibility of the old ones, you'll probably enjoy how this new version holds your foot more securely. Just keep in mind, the mesh is similar, great for breathability but not really water-resistant.
Running Experience
When it comes to running on dry pavement or light gravel, this shoe is still a solid pick with its cushioning that handles impact well.
But some people mentioned it's not great in wet conditions since it lacks extra traction like lugs. So, while the fit improvements are nice, it's best for fair-weather runs.
About Water Resistance
If you're worried about keeping your feet dry, the Novablast 4 won't have waterproof features built in. According to our research, using waterproof socks could be a good workaround if you want to enjoy its fit and cushioning and stay dry at the same time.
Overall, if you're after a comfy shoe with good energy return, the Novablast 4 is worth a look. Just keep in mind, if you need something waterproof, you might want to check out other models with specific water resistance.
