Charging your Ring Battery Doorbell (2024 release) isn't too complicated. Here's a quick rundown:
-
Remove the Battery: First, you'll need to take the battery out of your doorbell. This involves unscrewing the security screw beneath the faceplate. Slide the faceplate up and press the release tab to remove the battery.
-
Charge the Battery: You'll want to use the charging cable that came with your doorbell. Plug it into the battery and connect it to a USB port, like on your computer or a wall charger.
Keep an eye on the indicator light:
- The orange light means it's charging.
- The green light means it's fully charged.
Charging may take a few hours, so it's best to do this when you don't need the doorbell right away.
-
Reinstall the Battery: Once it's charged, simply slide the battery back into place in the doorbell. Be sure it's clicked in securely. Then, put the faceplate back on and screw it in with the provided screwdriver.
-
Check the App: Finally, open the Ring app on your phone to check if the doorbell is online and the battery shows full.
From what we've gathered, people generally find this charging process pretty easy. Some folks suggest having a spare battery around to swap out and prevent any downtime.
According to the manufacturer, battery life depends on how much you use it and your settings, so tweaking those in the app can help it last longer. If you run into any problems, checking out the Ring support page might give you some handy tips.
