The VELCRO Brand Face Mask Extender Straps are pretty handy if you've ever dealt with sore ears from wearing masks for a long time. They're about 12 inches long and 1 inch wide, letting you move the mask loops from your ears to the back of your head, which can make a big difference comfort-wise.
From what the manufacturer says, they're made with soft materials, so they should feel nice against your skin and hair. Plus, they're washable and reusable, which is great for everyday use.
About the fit—these extenders are adjustable. Our findings suggest that this feature is really helpful, as it lets you get the right fit for different head sizes and works with all sorts of masks, whether they're cloth, disposable, or homemade. People from various lines of work who have to wear masks all day, like healthcare professionals, seem to find them especially useful.
A lot of folks have mentioned that these extenders really help with the discomfort from ear pressure. The adjustable design seems to get a thumbs-up for staying put securely, dropping the annoying tugging that typical ear loops can cause.
That said, some people found it took a bit of experimenting to get the fit just right. A few found the extenders slipping until they figured out the right spot to place them. So, trying them at home first might help you get them perfect before heading out.
There were a few voices suggesting that a slightly shorter version could work better for those with smaller heads.
But overall, according to our research, these extenders do a solid job of reducing ear pain and making mask-wearing more comfortable for extended periods. If you're trying to make wearing masks a bit easier on yourself, these straps could definitely help.
