The Agri-Fab 45-0518 40" Tow Plug Aerator is built to penetrate the soil up to about 3 inches deep. That's pretty effective for getting air, water, and nutrients down to the roots, which can help keep your lawn healthier.
On the flip side, putting it together is where people seem to run into some trouble. Our research suggests that the assembly can be tricky, with quite a few parts and detailed instructions that can be a bit overwhelming. It might take a good few hours to get it all set up. Watching a couple of online assembly videos might simplify things a bit more than the manual does.
Make sure you've got a full toolkit handy, and it'd be smart to spread out all the parts before diving in. People sometimes discover pieces that are missing or don't quite fit right, like bolts that aren't the right size, so a trip to the hardware store might be on the cards. And remember, the blades are sharp, so wearing gloves is a practical way to keep your hands safe.
While putting it together can be a bit of a headache, don’t let that put you off. Once assembled, it’s a durable piece of equipment with a sturdy steel deck and galvanized blades. You'll need a riding mower or lawn tractor to tow it, and it works best on damp soil.
If you’re feeling unsure about tackling the setup alone, asking for help or hiring a pro for assembly could save you some time and frustration.
But once it's up and running, this aerator should help keep your lawn in great shape.
