Hey! So, if you're wondering about the comfort of the Petzl ADJAMA harness for long hanging belays, it generally gets a thumbs up for keeping you comfy when you're suspended for a while.
Our research shows that many climbers trust this harness for those lengthy stints hanging in the air.
A big part of the comfort here is how easily you can adjust the fit. It's got these DOUBLEBACK buckles on both the leg loops and the waist belt, so tweaking it to match whatever you're wearing is pretty straightforward.
This is especially handy if you're switching from summer to winter gear.
The manufacturer offers a size range from Small to X-Large, aiming to fit a variety of body types and climbing styles—whether you're into gnarly multi-pitch routes or technical mountaineering.
But heads up, the manufacturer notes that it tends to run a bit small, so you might want to think about sizing up, especially if you're planning to layer up for cold climbs.
According to our findings, climbers appreciate the extra padding because let's face it, long belays can get uncomfortable with pressure points.
This padding helps spread the weight, making those long hangs more tolerable.
In the end, while fit is pretty personal, the ADJAMA seems to be a reliable option with good adjustability and comfort.
Just make sure to double-check the size chart and maybe consider going up a size if you're adding lots of layers.
